My Home in the Florida Keys Paradise

A sunny cruise down to the Florida Keys, that unmistakable royal-blue sky, and the familiar island vibe kicking in as the bridge drops down onto Key Largo — palm trees, Mrs. Mac's Kitchen, and the colored fence with a toy sailboat marking the entrance to Key Lime Sailing Club.

The welcome comes from a friendly, worldly crew of volunteers chasing sailing knowledge and stories, a towering mechanic with gorilla-sized hands and tales of far-off places, and owner Paul Keever himself — beard, ponytail, and a laugh so contagious it's practically a house rule: if he doesn't make you laugh in your first couple of meetings, you get a free night's stay.

Further down the drive sits the unmistakable tiki hut, palm trees seeming to lean away from it as if they know it's the heart of the place.
