A year on from Hurricane Irma, we wanted to share the story of the Florida Keys Electric Cooperative (FKEC) and their effort to restore power across the Keys, as covered by Florida Currents magazine.
After Irma left widespread destruction — downed power lines, blown transformers, snapped poles — the FKEC team worked long hours in extreme conditions to get the lights back on for thousands of residents and businesses.
As residents and business owners in the Florida Keys, we can't thank the FKEC enough for their tireless work and dedication to the community in the aftermath of the storm.
